We have a proud history in the forest and paper industry which extends more than 150 years back in time. Our starting point is that virgin fibers from slowly growing Nordic forests forms the basis for some of the best-performing packaging materials. As Sweden's largest user of fiber raw materials, the wood supply's mission is to secure Billeruds Swedish industries with pulpwood, chips, and fuel.

 

We are now looking for a Director Sustainability & Communication for Procurement & Wood supply

In this position, you report to the SVP Procurement & Wood Supply, and you will have an important position in the management team for the entire function. You will be responsible for leading and coaching a dedicated team and developing the business within Sustainability & Communication. You will collaborate closely internally with other departments to strengthen our internal and external communication on sustainability issues and externally with stakeholders and media contacts. You will play a central role in our sustainability work and represent the company in industry associations and in contacts with authorities and forest policy contexts.

Areas of responsibility

• Leading and coaching team members
• Design and implement sustainability programs that support the company's long-term goals
• Identify and analyze sustainability risks and opportunities within the industry
• Ensure that the company complies with all relevant EU directives and national environmental regulations with a particular focus on the EU
• Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)
• Organize and oversee regular audits and reporting to verify compliance
• Promote sustainable forestry practices and responsible use of natural resources
• Analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for sustainability
  Develop and implement internal communication strategies to educate and engage employees in sustainability initiatives
• Foster a sustainability culture within the company
• Manage and coordinate all external communication related to the company's sustainability initiatives and marketing efforts
• Build and maintain relationships with media, stakeholders, and community groups
• Develop campaigns and materials to promote the company's sustainability efforts.

Kvalifikationer

To succeed in this position, we believe you have:

• Degree within forestry, economics, technical or other relevant field
  Experience from working with sustainability issues at a strategic level
• Work experience from the forestry industry
• Excellent leadership abilities
• Fluent skills in reading and writing Swedish and English
• Experience from working with forest owners, environmental organizations, and certification processes.
• Meritorious is the ability to coordinate and lead projects, such as the implementation of the EU's Forest Directive (EUDR)
• Experience in driving and coordinating sustainability issues and biodiversity programs
